Redrock Precision Motors Matching Gift Campaign
Since it’s inception in 2003, Golden Bone Rescue & Rehab has been supported by donations from within the Verde Valley communities.  Through the years, Redrock Precision Motors has been one of our most consistent and regular donors both with financial support and volunteer hours.

Our senior  and special needs dog intake has increased dramatically and with it the need for medical and palliative care has increased.  To help us raise much needed funds to support our programs, Redrock Precision Motors is offering a matching gift challenge of $1000.  For every $1 you donate, they will match with $1.  One dollar becomes 2 dollars, $10 becomes $20, $50 becomes $100 and so on up to $2000.

Golden Bone Rescue & Rehab is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation , rehoming or palliative care of dogs suffering from trauma, abuse, neglect or displacement.

Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated and will go directly to helping dogs in our programs. Thank you for helping Golden Bone Rescue & Rehab and the dogs in our care.

Hank - Catahoula/Cattle Dog mix
Hank
Catahoula/Cattle Dog mix

Hank had a gorgeous life till his mom became near fatally ill. She has recovered but has come through with a life threatening sensitivity to the pathogens of living with animals. Hank cannot go home. He's been in caring boarding for nearly a year in Wyoming and needed to make a move from the high altitude. Hank has Pannus in his eyes (being treated with eye drops) and has very limited vision. We expect improvements at lower altitude and with regular medication. He is now in foster with us.

This sweet senior is otherwise healthy and active at 12 years old. He loves people of all ages and other dogs, makes friends quickly, plays sweetly and wants so much to bond to so someone who will love him and care for him the rest of his life. Hank is gentle and complying. He watches closely to understand what is expected of him. He is well trained, walks beautifully on a leash, will stay when he's told, come when he's called, meets strangers and other dogs gently and politely. He loves outings and travels well. Hank is happiest following his person around and he will settle wherever you are, at ready to follow your commands. He is precious.

Hank copes very well with his limited vision even in unfamiliar places. He loves being outdoors and would enjoy a spacious yard and gentle walks in nature. He doesn't like being left alone and has developed a bit of separation anxiety with all the changes he's been through but he is adaptable. He has not been destructive when left alone, just very anxious.

Hank is altered, current on shots and ready for his loving forever home.

If you have a place in your home and your heart for this very special, loving senior friend please fill out an application or via Facebook or email

Mission Statement

Golden Bone Rescue and Rehab is a no kill organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abandoned, neglected and abused animals and thoughtfully placing them in safe and loving foster and permanent homes. We are committed to promoting local spay and neuter programs, which ultimately eases needless suffering in our animal community.

Why we do what we do

In 2002 co-founders Angela Windolph and Nadia Caillou came together to form Golden Bone Rescue & Rehab in an effort to relieve the suffering of as many animals as possible. Nadia had this notion that she wanted to save a million dogs in her lifetime and so the seed has been planted! WE started with the most difficult cases, with the Baldwin Park Chihuahua case in California (over 270 chis found in deplorable conditions) A group of these Chihuahuas came to us as feral with severe physical and mental conditions. Left to fend for themselves, they resorted to cannibalism. This case opened our eyes. Clearly the need for rehabilitation became as important as finding safe homes for traumatized animals. In fact, we realized none of these animals could be placed in permanent homes until they received the rehabilitation they needed.

Who we are

GBRR is a 501c(3) non-profit group of caring volunteers, board members and supporters who provide community rescue of domestic companion animals. Located in the Verde Valley, we operate solely on individual donations and fundraising proceeds. Thus far, we’ve placed hundreds of needy animals in loving homes.

We believe in providing low cost spay/neuter programs and education in our community for the purpose of reducing the number of unwanted pets. All rescued animals are evaluated for temperament and personality by qualified staff members. This helps us place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of the future owners.

We interface with local city, town and county animal control officers to reduce trauma to abused, neglected, an abandoned domestic pets, as well as to provide safe and supervised foster homes for those animals that have been scarred and damaged. We make every attempt to rehabilitate those animals with behavioral issues based on their traumatic life events.
